How a volunteer hour is earned

A Lemont student volunteers
They apply, interview, train with the Lumi team, and are approved before they ever meet a student.
They are matched with a K–8 child
Sessions are weekly, 30 minutes, over video, and free for the family.
The hour is recorded automatically
When a session finishes it is logged against that volunteer. Nobody types their hours in.

How the numbers are counted

Only completed sessions count. A session that was cancelled or never happened earns nothing.
A volunteer who showed up and waited for a family who did not arrive still earns the session. The wait was real.
